Panel 3: Earthstain on canvas, with charcoal, paint, and lakeland slate. 60cms x 60cms x 5cms. August 2013


 

After emerging from Low Hows Wood the path rises from Broadslack Gill into a narrow valley.

Almost paved in rough slate, it passes below Castle Crag which can be reached by a steep track off to left just before the top of the valley is reached.

Earth for panel three was collected just beyond the large slabs of slate that form a bridge over a stream that feeds down into Broadslack Gill.
